This is a 6 month Contract position 

 

Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Development/Maintenance Manager, the Internal Auditor/Coordinator observes plant processes, assists with administrative duties, and takes a hands on approach with projects including work on the plant floor. This is a junior position and our ideal candidate would bring experience in the Quality function of a manufacturing company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct internal audits which align with professional standards
  • Drive and support the completion of assigned audit engagements including collaborating and communicating with management on risk mitigation action plans
  • Plan and conduct follow-up reviews of management action items to mitigate risk/control exposures
  • Works on the plant floor as needed
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs for inventoried items
  • Conduct specific investigations and provide management advice and assistance regarding risk mitigation and internal control practices
  • Analyze business processes
  • Interpret information and documentation.
  • Test reliability of information systems
  • Assist with the annual risk assessment process
  • Take on projects as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 years of audit, internal controls, or relevant experience in a medium or large organization
  • Strong project management skills and experience with an ability to manage several priorities and consistently achieve objectives and meet timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization, while working in a team based, self-managed environment and cultivate open communication across the team
  • Ability to appropriately and effectively challenge the status quo to affect positive business change
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate barriers to the success of projects, can also apply major problem identification and solution skills, including core, and analytical thinking
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Willing to work on the plant floor and take necessary training for hands on learning
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information into plain language for reports and presentations
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions for resolving complex problems
  • Ability to provide advice, consult, persuade, negotiate, and influence in order to build consensus and support for recommendations and promote organizational change
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity in the conduct of audits and protect the confidentiality of privileged information
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and manage effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the business, while continuing to maintain independence and objectivity
  • Ability to act with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in sensitive situations
  • Proficiency in using computer software (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) in a Windows environment
