About this Opportunity

 

As the National HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Manager, you will have the authority to decide about any subject related to Health, Safety and Environment in the organization (all facilities) and report to the Director, QHSE. The National HSE Manager represents CCCBL on all HSE related subjects in the HSE Coca Cola Global Community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•The National Health, Safety and environment Manager is responsible for the development, organization, deployment, administration and monitoring of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs together with the HSE team.

•Focus strategically on Prevention. and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety

•Ensure thorough implementation and execution of HSE related programs and processes as well ensures all HSE programs comply with company and regulatory requirements.

•Conduct assessments to identify potential hazards or impacts and establish controls to mitigate risks. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, and prepares appropriate reports.

•Define Training needs and develops and conducts employee training programs for all HSE programs

•Business Liaison to the MOL, MOE, Fire Department and Insurance Company and other regulatory agencies as needed

•Provide HSE technical expertise in the crisis management team as required

 

HSE Management System and People Management

•            Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure ongoing compliance, including all training and record keeping activities in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations

•            Determine HSE goals and strategies for Coke Canada and ensure they meet all Canadian and Coca Cola requirements.

•            Create National HSE plan for implementation and execution aligned with Coca Cola North America Plan and CCCBL Priorities

•            Maintain the Coca Canada HSE Management System as well Participate/ Support in all HSE management system audits including; The Coca Cola Company, ISO 14000 /ISO 45000 and periodic OH&S inspections to Supply Chain and Operating Units as required.

•            Develop and maintain associated HSE metrics as required at corporate level and ensure timely reporting on established deadlines.

•            Create schedule of facility audits and ensure that Safety Specialists execute the audit schedule, as well as working with the facilities to create action plans for improvement

•            Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the management system and ensure support to facilities to deliver corrective action of internal and external HSE audit findings on a timely manner

•            Identify internal and external HSE resource requirements to effectively deliver HSE programs.

•            Implementation of National HSE standardized programs that include designation of responsibility, resources and timelines and assist Safety Specialists with the implementation   HSE plans for individual facilities when needed. 

•            Manage all aspects of the HSE policies and procedures, including but not limited to, hazard analysis and identification, contractor safety, emergency response, machine guarding, electrical safety, hazardous energy control, confined space, fall protection, incident investigation, fleet management, industrial hygiene programs, ergonomic, recycling, water and energy reduction and identify the need for new HSE programs.

•            Influence Senior Management to ensure full execution, communication and compliance with CCCBL HSE Plan and Policies and all regulatory laws, codes and standards as well The Coca Cola Company written policies and procedures.

•            Provide transparency and assurance of trends and concerns to local management and seek proactive intervention solutions

•            Drive efforts to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing processes including; hazardous and solid waste minimization, and reduced water and energy consumption. Efforts will focus on reduction of resource consumption, recycling and reuse initiatives

•            Lead the CCCBL weekly review of accidents

•            Review Facilities HSE compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures and write reports and recommendations as necessary.

•            Ensure Safety / Environment alerts are shared on a timely manner

 

HSE Engagement / Mentorship / Coaching

•            Complete regular plant and field visits to observe, provide mentorship and assess level of HSE culture.

•            Development of the team, encouraging the HSE specialists to implement improvement and changes to reduce hazards.

•            Provide regular feedback to HSE specialists and people leaders regarding HSE related performance.

•            Support all leadership by way of coaching during safety related incidents, events and communication.

•            Deliver weekly / monthly to senior management and provide commentary on trends, initiatives and overall HSE culture at divisions,

•            Drive positive safety culture throughout CCCBL and work closely with Sr. leadership

 

Risk Management

•            Drive the use of risk management tools within CCCBL.

•            Ensure that all high potential risk items receive leadership attention and are mitigated to acceptable levels when identified.

•            Use key indicators through tracking and reporting tools to identify negative risk trends and facilitate corrective actions in a timely manner

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Post-secondary education – Diploma or Degree in a program relating to safety preferred, CRSP designation a definite asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ of HSE experience and minimum of 3 years' experience managing people
  • Manufacturing, Distribution & Fleet with multi-locations is considered an asset
  • Acts as change agent to drive cultural change and inspires others to action through collaboration and influence
  • Ability to travel to support operational needs, conduct site visits, audits as required, etc.
  • Must be a team leader who leads by example and act as an owner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Focus on customer service, building relations with functional and with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a solid customer service orientation.
  • Must have strong communication & presentations skills and ability to relate to all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of provincial HSE regulations required.
  • Strong computer and software skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
