About this opportunity

As an Intern – Environmental Health and Safety, you will report into the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Manager and be based out of Brampton.

In this role you will be gathering data from different departments for the Health and Safety team. The role will involve constant contact with different groups within the distribution center to gather information, performing inspections, and inputting data into meaningful formats for analysis.

What you will need to succeed in this role

  • Recent college/university graduate or currently enrolled in an Occupational Health and Safety related program
  • Some background knowledge in environmental protection



  • Gather data, analyze and present potential path forward for safety project related work
  • Promote an incident-free work environment by observing and evaluating plant operations and where applicable, develop recommendations to safety, health and environmental issues
  • Complete audits and report on different departments’ KPIs
  • Pull data from our systems and input into our H&S tracker
  • Assist site leadership in developing a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and assist site during inspections and investigations, providing local management with the expertise to interpret regulatory compliance issues
  • Provide technical safety support to all department personnel
  • Assist in environmental issues and compliance, as needed



  • Experience in a manufacturing setting an asset
  • Mechanically inclined to review, comprehend and recommend effective solutions as they relate to safety and compliance issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude with an ability to engage a diverse group of employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word
