About this Opportunity

 

The Deployment Planner is responsible for ensuring the optimal levels of product supply in the regional Sales Centers in accordance with target inventory levels.  The planner is also responsible for building optimal loads that support transportation’s routing guide matrix, as well as being responsible for inventory status communication, reporting on out of stock (OOS) risk or potential shelf life risk.  The Deployment Planner directly reports to the Senior Planning Manager.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

 

In performance of his/her official duties the Deployment Planner is responsible for the following:

 

  • Creates a detailed plan for replenishment of finished goods transfer orders within the region. 
  • Coordinates the schedules with Transportation department taking into consideration all external factors (warehouse resources for receiving/dispatch, availability of transportation and quantities of finished goods)
  • Creates quarantine shipments (changes of warehouses in the transportation orders and, if necessary, designation of quarantine storage sites)
  • Creates schedules of outbound deliveries in accordance with existing standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies potential risks of OOS situations and develops action plans to avoid them. (in accordance with the established service standards for each category)
  • If necessary, manually creates transportation/ shipment orders.
  • Monitors and verifies the compliance and execution of the daily deployment plans (by tracking not completed past orders). All discrepancies should be taken into consideration to be avoided in the future.
  • Risk management for slow-selling SKU / write-offs of obsolete inventory, and development of measures to avoid possible write-offs in the future (age optimization of products)
  • Identifies and revises limitations on transport resources
  • Acts as a main liaison between Planning Department, the Sales Centers, and Transportation Department
  • Supports the Regional Planning manager in preparation of the annual business plan.
  • Completes and maintains all the required paperwork in accordance with company guidelines.

 

Technical Skills 

 

  • Planning:  Ability to replenish F\Gs to meet service requirements, while managing space limitations and supporting the ongoing business needs.
  • Forecasting - Demand:  Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques and inputs (e.g., business trends, seasonality, consumption patterns).
  • Information Systems:  Knowledge and use of existing KO Technical Information Systems (e.g., JDE, DBS, SAP, Intranet) to generate necessary data.  Ability to access, analyse and utilize information in a manner that adds value to the organization.  Ability to propose system enhancements based on business needs.
  • Inventory Management:  Optimize inventory levels using statistical models to design min/max/reorder levels.  Knowledge of asset management procedures, policies and information used to optimize inventory levels and/or fill rates (e.g., balance inventory levels against inventory carrying costs).
  • Supplier Performance Management:  Knowledge of supplier capabilities and performance to help select, enhance and manage relationships.  Ability to measure supplier performance to expectation and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Supply Chain:  Knowledge of elements that make up the supply chain and the interrelationship between these elements.  Ability to manage and execute strategies across the supply chain to reduce costs and gain efficiencies in the completion of a quality finished good.  Ability to analyse, balance, synchronizes and synergizes all internal and external resources and assets to ensure the progress and ultimate completion of a finished good.

 

Position Requirements:

 

Required Education/Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Technology, Logistics, Business or Engineering
  • At least 3 years of supply planning/logistics experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of Planning processes in Product Supply Systems
  • Knowledge of logistics processes
  • Good working knowledge of Supply Management methods and policies
  • Ability to work within a large team environment
  • Preferred experience working in an ERP environment, ideally SAP
